Henry Beguelin: New Arrivals in Shoes and Bags

Born on the island of Elba over four decades ago, Henry Beguelin remains one of Italy’s most quietly distinctive leather houses. The newest bags and shoes have just landed at Riada Concept.

Henry Beguelin began in the early 1980s, when a group of friends on the island of Elba started assembling belts and bags from natural cowhide and recycled materials, almost by chance. What started as an artisanal experiment has grown into a fully vertically integrated house, still hand-stitched using traditional tools and techniques, and still marked by the brand’s signature Omino, a hand-embroidered stick figure that has appeared on every piece for more than forty years. At Riada Concept, the newest shipment of bags and shoes has just landed, and it is the largest Henry Beguelin collection available in Australia.

The New Bags

The new arrivals span the house’s signature silhouettes across a range of soft, hand-finished leathers. The Bolla, the brand’s rounded barrel bag, arrives in three finishes: the Bolla Bassa in a buttery Softy leather in Beige and a richer Old Iron leather in Oliva, alongside the Bolla Media in Softy leather in both Nero and T. Moro. The Shopper M tote lands in Old Iron lambskin in Mogano and Oliva, while the Volta hobo bag brings a slouchier shape in Granello and Softy leather in T. Moro. The New Imbuto top handle bag in Gesso and the Bolla crossbody in Nero round out the edit for those after something smaller.

The New Shoes

The shoe edit leans into the house’s soft, hand-finished leathers across moccasins, loafers and a single woven slipper. The Cara Old Iron moccasin loafer arrives in a rich Brandy, while the Katerina Softy leather moccasin loafer comes in both Oliva and Beige. The Olivia moccasin rounds out the loafer edit in classic Nero, and the Softy leather sneaker brings a relaxed, everyday option in Beige. For something dressier, the Aurora slipper is finished in the brand’s signature woven bovine leather in T. Moro.
