Massimo Alba: SS26 Womenswear at Riada Concept

Effortless Mediterranean ease, reimagined for the season ahead. Discover Massimo Alba’s SS26 womenswear collection at Riada Concept.

Massimo Alba launched his eponymous label in Milan in 2006, after nearly two decades spent as creative director for cashmere houses including Malo and Agnona. That background shows: the collection is built textile-first, prioritising natural fibres, hand-finishing and a lived-in patina over rigid tailoring. Originally from Treviso, Alba designs with what he calls a decontracté aesthetic in mind, garments made to feel comfortable and unstudied, never severe. At Riada Concept, the SS26 womenswear collection brings that philosophy to Woollahra in full.

Heritage

An Independent Italian Voice

Alba built his label on a deliberately small scale, choosing independence over outside investment so the collection could remain entirely his own concept. Every piece is made in Italy, sourced from a wide range of regional factories across the country rather than a single supplier, a choice Alba has described as wanting to draw on the character of each region’s craft. The result is a wardrobe defined by soft, natural dyes, considered colour and fabrics that are left to move and soften with wear rather than hold a rigid shape. The label has since built a reputation well beyond Italy: Massimo Alba pieces have appeared on Daniel Craig as James Bond in No Time to Die, and have been worn by Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sir Ian McKellen.

This Season

SS26, in Colour

The new arrivals lean into a considered palette of deep grape, soft sky blue and warm wood brown, each rendered across the label’s signature linens and cottons. The Anna linen shirt and the Nell ruffled linen shirt dress both arrive in Grape, a rich plum that anchors the collection, while the Melissa textured cotton long skirt brings the same ease to a warm Wood brown. The Boga pinstriped linen trousers in Sky and the Pamela ruched jacquard cotton blouse in white offer a lighter, daytime pairing, and the cashmere silk bandanas in Fuchsia and River are the easiest way to bring a considered accent to any of the above.
