Knitted in Frank & Eileen's exclusive Italian pointelle, this version of the Monterey sweater trades the density of the original for an open, breathable texture that feels soft, light and airy. A rolled funnel neck offers the look of a turtleneck in a fresher, more relaxed form, and the long sleeves are cut in one continuous piece, with an exposed seam running from the neck to the wrist to lengthen the line of the arm. Its Egyptian cotton is dyed and finished into yarn in Italy before the sweater is knitted in Portugal, and the yarn holds its colour and shape through repeated washing. In white, the delicate pattern of the pointelle is at its most visible. Available online with shipping throughout Australia and internationally, and in-store at Riada Concept in Woollahra, Sydney.

Frank & Eileen cuts the Pointelle with more room than its original Monterey sweater, so we suggest one size below the usual; someone who normally takes a medium would generally choose a small. A size S is worn by the model, who is 175 cm tall.
Does the Monterey Pointelle look like a turtleneck?
It has a similar effect. The rolled funnel neck rises around the neck in the manner of a turtleneck, but with a lighter, more contemporary feel.
What is pointelle knit?
Pointelle is a knit with a pattern of small, open eyelets worked into the fabric. On the Monterey it gives the sweater a lighter, more breathable feel than a solid knit, which suits transitional weather; on colder days it layers comfortably beneath a jacket or coat.
